Suzi's Weaving Projects

Insomnia is the mother of all invention! The first shots show a planning stage of building my tri-loom, a mock-loom made with push pins on a cutting board. Spacing is aprx 1/2 inch apart on the long side, 3/8 inch on the short. IMnsHO it is way too spaced out for this yarn, so I went on to make the loom with 1/4 inch spaced nails.

The next shots show my first project with the home-made tri loom. The loom measures about 64 inches across the long side. The yarn for this shawl was handspun (first yarn off the wheel!) and dyed with both natural and kool-aid dyes! The shawl will most likely be worn as part of my rennaisance faire ensemble, although it is modeled here in street clothes.
